Victoria “Vicky” Nielsen, 97, of Morgan died Friday, October 27, 2017 at Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from St. John Lutheran Church in Morgan with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 12, from noon until 2 p.m., at the church.
The family requests memorials be directed to St. John Lutheran Church.

Victoria “Vicky” Esther (Hansen) Nielsen, the daughter of Andrew and Laura (Krebs) Hansen, was born December 25, 1919 in the farm home near Evan that was built by her grandpa Christ Hansen. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Evan and received her elementary education in Evan school. Vicky graduated from Sleepy Eye High School and nurses’ training at Anker Hospital in St. Paul.
Vicky married Wes Nielsen and they lived in the Morgan area where they farmed. She was an active church member, teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School as well as holding offices in the ALWC. Vicky volunteered for the Blood Mobile and Gil-Mor Auxiliary. She served as secretary of the local PTA and delivered Meals on Wheels. Vicky moved to Gil-Mor Haven in August 2010.
She is survived by her sons Steve (Becky) Nielsen of Waconia, and Jim (Dorothy) Nielsen of Morgan; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Vicky was preceded in death by her husband Wes, and her younger sister Deloris Miller.
