Trudella Melva Meyer, the daughter of William and Ida (Wendt) Meyer, was born October 12, 1918 in rural Brown County, Minnesota – near Springfield. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Springfield High School in 1936. Trudy then attended Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato for two years before returning to Springfield where she worked as a telephone operator.
On April 24, 1950, Trudy married Donald Driscoll in Faribault. The couple made their home in Redwood Falls where Don was an auctioneer and a Realtor for Driscoll-Kelly Real Estate and then on his own as Don Driscoll Realtor. Trudy was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls and belonged to the Altar Guild. She also belonged to the Veritas Study Club. Trudy enjoyed gardening, embroidering, sewing, traveling, reading, crocheting, and fixing clothing to be “good as new.” She liked to read cookbooks and try new recipes, which tasted great – even though she usually wouldn’t admit it. Trudy enjoyed her collections of antiques, hats and jewelry. Family gatherings and family members were always very important to her.
She is survived by her son Paul Driscoll of Woodbury; daughter Martha (Dean) Driscoll-Nelson of Hanover; grandchildren Annika Nelson and Ingrid Nelson both of Hanover; and her brother Marvin Meyer of Edina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don in 1993, one brother, four sisters, and two brothers in infancy.
Blessed be her memory.
