Thomas “Tom” Evans, 66, of Redwood Falls died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Redwood Area Hospital. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 from St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 7, 2012, from 5 until 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., all at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church for one hour prior to services.

Thomas Mathias Evans, the son of Otis and Anna (Jenniges) Evans, was born March 16, 1946 in Redwood Falls. He received his formal education at St. Mathias Catholic School in Wanda and Redwood Falls High School. Tom enlisted in the United States Air Force and served at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas where he was honorably discharged. Tom returned to Redwood Falls and worked in construction with Lussenhop Construction and then Northwest Drywall. He retired in 2003.

Tom was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. He enjoyed the outdoors and going to Ramsey Park. Tom liked to drive his truck around – particularly out to Chumley’s. He loved Mountain Dew and dumpster diving.

Tom is survived by his siblings Denise Ritcher of New Ulm, Damian (Susan) Evans of Sammamish, Washington, Melanie (Tom) Ochs of Redwood Falls, Dan (Linda) Evans of North Branch, Andrea (George) Miller of Valley City, North Dakota, Margot (Neil ) Spiess, of Forest Lake, Kevin (Cathy) Evans of Woodland Hills, California, Janet (Scott) Scharlemann of Redwood Falls, Ruth Otto of Willmar, Judy Hart of Antioch, California, and Ann Marie Evans of Redwood Falls; and sister-in-law Linda Evans of Redwood Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Guy.
