Sylvia Ann Boettger Rose, the daughter of Everette and Elsie (Puppe) Boettger, was born February 22, 1949 in Grafton, North Dakota. She grew up on the farm east of Glasston and received her elementary education in the nearby country school. Sylvia graduated from Cavalier High School in 1967 and went on to airline school in Chicago. She graduated in 1969 and moved to Springfield Massachusetts and then Miami Florida. Sylvia moved back to Cavalier in 1975 to help on the farm. It was there that she met her future husband, Mark Rose.
Sylvia and Mark were married on September 10, 1976; they moved to Grand Marais Minnesota in 1977, then to Langdon, Grand Forks and Mohall North Dakota. The family moved to Redwood Falls in 1993.
Sylvia worked at the North Dakota State Hospital for the mentally handicapped in Grafton before becoming a homemaker. After moving to Redwood Falls, she was employed at Morgan’s grocery store. Sylvia’s passion was gardening and she loved taking walks with her husband and her beloved dog, Toro. She also enjoyed camping, riding bike, snowshoeing and puzzles. Sylvia was a special soul who was well liked and was friendly with all she met in her life.
She is survived by her husband Mark Rose of Redwood Falls; sons Matthew Rose of Baudette, Nathan (Paula) Rose of St. Cloud, and Bradley Rose of Broomfield Colorado. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Eugene Boettger in 2017.
She will be missed very much by Mark and their three boys. Blessed be her memory.
