Ruth Florence Pedersen, the daughter of Clarence and Adeline Sieckert, was born July 7, 1920 in Stewart. She resided in Clements with her parents until the family moved to Redwood Falls where she attended grade school and high school.
On October 24, 1940, Ruth married Raymond “Pat” Pedersen in Redwood Falls. The couple lived in Morgan for six years then moved to Redwood Falls where they spent the rest of their married life. Following Pat’s death in 2009, Ruth continued to live in Redwood Falls until recently when she moved to the Dassel Nursing Home following a brief stay in the hospital. Ruth was employed at FW Woolworth store in Redwood Falls from November 1956 until the store closed in April 1981. She enjoyed working and found her job interesting and challenging.
Ruth was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Church in Redwood Falls where she taught an adult Sunday school class for several years. She had several hobbies which included decorating their home, sewing and, in her later years, crocheting. She was also involved and active in Christian Women’s Club for many years.
Ruth is survived by son Mike (Kathy) Pedersen of Shakopee, daughter Sandi (David) Huikko of Dassel, eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, two brothers, and her son, Larry.
Blessed be her memory.
