Phyllis F. Lueken, age 99 of Morgan died Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Gil-Mor Manor Nursing Home in Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Morgan with burial to follow in the St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Phyllis Frances Lueken, the daughter of Clyde and Anna (Haubrick) Crain, was born June 24, 1919 in Veblen, Marshall County, South Dakota. She graduated from Morgan High School in 1937. She attended the College of St. Joseph of Nursing and College of St. Catherine graduating to become a Registered Nurse.
On September 11, 1948, Phyllis married Raymond Lueken at St. John’s Catholic Church in Morton, Minnesota. They made their home in rural Morgan where they farmed together. In 1973 they moved into Morgan. Phyllis worked as a Registered Nurse & a Surgical Nurse at the Springfield Medical Center, a Registered Nurse at Gil Mor Manor of Morgan and a School Nurse at Cedar Mountain Schools.
Phyllis was an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Morgan where she made baptismal gowns, counted money for church, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was active in the Morgan Memorial Foundation serving on the board. She enjoyed volunteering at Meals on Wheels, Food Shelf and anyone that needed nursing assistance.
Phyllis loved to play cards, especially Bridge. Loved her tomatoes planted around her house. Loved new adventures but made every trip an adventure. She loved her family, her partner, Ray, and visits from the many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Ann (Harry) Guza of Minneota, James Lueken of Morgan, Mary Lueken Anderson (Gary) of New Richmond, Wisconsin, Suzanne (Bruce) Ebertowski of Minnesota City, John Lueken of Owatonna, Margo (Dale) Woodford of Darwin and Mark Lueken of West Lake Village, California. 18 Grandchildren and 36 Great-Grandchildren. She is survived by her sister in law, Cathy Crain of Redwood Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray in 1997, son Michael in infancy, Great-grandchild Piper Woodford, brother Jack Crain, sister Marguerite Meyers and half sister Dorothy Crain.
