Nancy Dolezal Rolla, 62, of Franklin died Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls with private burial to follow. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Nancy Dolezal Rolla, the daughter of Frank and Leah (Hammerschmidt) Dolezal, was born November 12, 1950 in Redwood Falls. She received her elementary education in Redwood Falls. In 1962, she moved with her family to California. They returned to Redwood Falls in 1967 and Nancy graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1968. Following high school graduation, she attended Southwest State University in Marshall. Nancy then moved to Minneapolis where she lived for most of her life. Presently she resided at Golden Living Center in Franklin.
Nancy was an incredibly talented singer and guitar player. She played with various bands in the surrounding area and backed up Wanda Jackson and Waylon Jennings. Nancy was very intelligent and an avid learner. She continually studied in the areas of geography, science history, astronomy and politics. Nancy loved her family and cared deeply for her mother, who is 92 years old. Although Nancy struggled with mental illness and other health issues, throughout her life she always had a great sense of humor and was an extremely kind-hearted soul.
Nancy is survived by her daughter Sonya; her mother Leah Hammerschmidt Dolezal; and her sisters Lorna (Al) Nelsen of Redwood Falls, Debra Franklin of Annandale, and Renee (Dana) Lindeman of Wabasso. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Dolezal.
