Mary J. Lothert Hagen

Mary Lothert Hagen, 89, of Redwood Falls died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from the Nelson-Martin Funeral Chapel in Redwood Falls with inurnment to follow at Crestlawn Gardens, rural Redwood Falls. Visitation will be held Saturday, from noon until 2 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mary J. Hagen, the daughter of William and Etta (Fox) Foley, was born March 16, 1924 in St. Paul. She grew up in rural Minnesota.

In July 1955, Mary married Sylvester Lothert and, together, they farmed. Sylvester preceded her in death and Mary later married Robert Hagen. Mary was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls.

She is survived by her daughters Margaret (Randy) Groothuis of Pillager, Janet (Sherman) Frazier of Redwood Falls, and Nancy Schemmel of Morgan; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sylvester, and her husband Robert.
