Mary Jane Dehncke, 70, of Morton died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Seasons in Redwood Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012 from Cornerstone Christian Church in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in the Morton City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 14, 2012, from 5 until 8 p.m., at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue at the church on Friday for one hour prior to services.

Mary Jane Dehncke, the daughter of Clarence L. and Alice Mary (Martin) Combo, was born November 30, 1942 in Marysville, Kansas. She grew up in Marysville and received her elementary and secondary education there. Mary Jane graduated from Marysville High School in 1961 and then enrolled in nursing school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.

On April 29, 1962, Mary Jane married Donald Dehncke, Sr. at Brookings, South Dakota; following their wedding, the couple settled in Morton where they have resided since. Mary Jane was employed as a lineman by Control Data/MPI/Zytec/Artysen for 34 years, retiring in 2002. She was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church where she helped with cooking for church functions and with childcare. Mary Jane enjoyed bowling, reading, going to Jackpot Junction, and camping.

She is survived by her husband Donald Edward Dehncke, Sr. of Morton; children Susan Ann Dehncke of Paynesville, Donald Edward Dehncke, Jr. of Morton, Catherine Marie Allan of Perham, and William Michael Dehncke of Hagerstown, Maryland; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one daughter, one brother, and three sisters.
