Marion "Deno" Kay Rothmeier

Marion “Deno” Rothmeier, 57, of Redwood Falls died November 8, 2011 at her home. A Memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m., Friday November 11, 2011 from St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Morgan with burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, rural Morgan. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from noon until 2 p.m.

Marion Kay Rothmeier, the daughter of Lorand and Dorothy (Krenz) Zuhlsdorf, was born February 2, 1954 in Sleepy Eye. She received her education in Morgan, graduating from Morgan High School in 1972.

On May 4, 1974, Deno married Kenneth Rothmeier at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Morgan. They lived in Clements until 1979 and then moved to Spencer, Iowa where they lived until 1985. They came back to Morgan for a short time and then moved to Clements in 1985. Deno later relocated to Redwood Falls where she was employed in the food service department at Tersteegs. She loved riding horse, reading, watching movies, and music. Deno loved to spend time with her grandchildren, family and friends.

Deno is survived by her mother Dorothy Gross of New Ulm; son Jamey (Jamee) Rothmeier and their four children of Sterling, Alaska; daughter Sheila (Randy) Sellner and their two children of Sleepy Eye; Deno’s three grandchildren from New Ulm; and her special friend, Sam. Also surviving are her siblings Jerry (Mary) Zuhlsdorf of Tomah, Wisconsin, Janette (Ron) Krzmarzick of New Ulm, Mavis (Joe) Hornick of Lake Park, Iowa, Diane (Tom) Kiergaard of Redwood Falls, and Sara (Pat) Duchene of Sauk Centre; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, her brother Mark, her sister Judy, and four brothers and two sisters all in infancy.
