Lucille (Schulz) Schultz, age 101 of Redwood Falls, MN passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan, MN. Funeral Service for Lucille will be held at St John’s Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 11am. Visitation will be held one hour before service. Lucille Rose Schultz was born July 20, 1923 in Brookville Township, Redwood County. She was the daughter of Otto and Lydia (Zarbock) Schulz. Lucille attended Redwood District 25 Country School between Springfield and Morgan.
On November 24,1939 Lucille was united in marriage to Walter Otto Schultz at Sundown Parish, Clements. They made their home in Three Lakes Township and in 1975 they retired and built a house in Redwood Falls, until Lucille moved into Gil-Mor Manor in 2021. Lucille and Walter were married 54 years prior to Walter’s passing in 1993. Lucille was a homemaker and worked at Control Data.
Lucille was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. (Lucille was 4 months shy of a 6-family generation.) She was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church. She was a member of Ladies Aid.
Lucille enjoyed quilting, embroidering, gardening, canning, polka music and square dancing. Lucille often hauled sugar beets and helped plowing the acreage on the farm. Lucille spent many hours sewing dresses/blouses and clothes for the children. Every Sunday after church service, her children and grandkids would gather at the house for coffee and freshly baked goodies. Grandma’s famous saying, “You dareson do that.”
Lucille is survived by her children: Lester Schultz, Lois (Dennis) Panitzke, Deloris Werner, Donna (Doug) Serbus, Jeanette (Dale) Prahl, Jean (Joe) Kohout and Richard (Sue) Schultz: sisters, Lorraine Jacoby and Gladys Jones. 25 Grandchildren, 66 Great Grandchildren and 27 Great Great Grandchildren.
Lucille is preceded in death by her Parents, Otto and Lydia Schulz: Husband, Walter Schultz: Children Leonard Schultz and Jan Shiffer: Sisters, Eldora Burggroff and Brunelda Dahms, Daughter in law: Patricia (Schmid) Schultz: Grandchildren, Tina (Schultz) Lincoln: Great Grandchild, Aerial Serbus: Great Great Grandchildren: George Brown and Baby Boy Henning.
The family invites everyone to the luncheon at the church immediately following the funeral service, then family and friends are invited out to Bethlehem Cemetery in Clements for the committal service.
