LaVon Olson, 80, of Redwood Falls died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016, from 4 until 7 p.m., at Nelson-Hillestad Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue on Thursday, from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m., at the church.

LaVon Marion Olson, the daughter of Leslie R. and Ila A. (Nielsen) Dallman, was born July 6, 1935 in Lucan. She grew up in the Lucan and Belview areas and received her formal education in Belview Public School.
On July 26, 1952, LaVon married Clifford Olson and they made their home in Sacred Heart and then Redwood Falls. LaVon was employed at Zytec in Redwood Falls for 19 years. She retired in 1996. LaVon was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and also taught confirmation classes. She served on the funeral committee and helped with mission quilting.
In her spare time, LaVon enjoyed crocheting and gave many afghans and baby afghans to family and friends. She enjoyed flower gardening, playing Bingo, league bowling, camping, traveling, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
LaVon is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Paula Olson of Redwood Falls; grandchildren Michelle (Chris) Gehrke of Belview, Brandon Olson of Clements, and Jessica (Mitch) Recker of Green Valley; great-grandchildren Tucker Madsen, Lucian Gehrke, Fenton Gehrke, Aubrey Recker and Ray Recker. Also surviving are her sisters Jean Burdick of Redwood Falls, Marilyn Fisher of New Ulm, and Debra Christensen of Morgan; and brother Loren Dallman of Redwood Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford in April 2010, son Dennis Olson, and brother Norman Dallman.
