Kathryn “Kathy” Jean Wiederich, age 81, of Redwood, MN died Sunday, October 24, 2021 at her home in Redwood Falls, MN. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021, at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, MN with burial to follow at the Peace Memorial Gardens in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 4 –7 p.m. at the Nelson-Hillestad Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.

Kathryn “Kathy” Jean Wiederich was born May 24, 1940 to Merion and Jeanette (Dallmann) Doble in Todd County, Minnesota. She grew up around Parkers Prairie, MN where she graduated from high school in 1958.
Kathy married Howard Wiederich on October 27, 1958. Together, they had four sons and one daughter. For work, she cleaned for a couple families and worked in a nursing home until moving to Redwood Falls, MN. She began working at Control Data, Zytec, and retired from Artesyn in 2004, at the age of 64.
Kathy enjoyed walking at the Redwood Area Community Center, going to weekly breakfast with her friends, and doing puzzles during winter months. She helped at the local food shelf after she had retired. Kathy consistently donated blood to the Red Cross. She loved to attend her grandchildren’s dance recital, sporting events, and other activities. She loved watching the Minnesota Vikings and Twins games. Kathy also enjoyed raising chickens and gardening on the farm and spending time with her grandchildren when they visited the farm.
Kathy was a kind, loving woman. She had a strong faith, as she attended St. John’s Lutheran Church and loved listening to Elvis Presley sing gospels.
Kathy is survived by her children, Lori (Robert) Rebstock, David (Erin) Wiederich, Brain (Diann) Wiederich, and Mike (Dayna) Wiederich; her grandchildren, Connor, Selena, and KaSondra Wiederich, Travis, Hunter, and Christina Rebstock; and her great-granddaughter, Noelle Donner.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents Merion and Jeanette; her siblings, Lavonne, Richard, Gerald, and Phyillis; and her son, Randy.
