James “Jim” Heckler, 76, of Morgan died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from the United Methodist Church in Morgan with burial to follow in the Morgan City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from noon until 2 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are with Nelson-Martin Funeral Service of Morgan. James Edward Heckler, the son of John and Alice (Gluth) Heckler, was born December 1, 1935 in Eden Township, Brown County, Minnesota. He was raised on the family farm until 1945, when he and his family moved into Morgan. Jim received his formal education in Morgan Public Schools. Following his graduation from high school in 1953, Jim enrolled at Mankato State University where he earned his degree in 1957.
