Eunice Frieda Gluth, the daughter of Norbert and Adeline (Haala) Tauer, was born August 23, 1943 in Sleepy Eye. She spent her youngest years in Sleepy Eye, moving to Morgan with her family in 1956. Eunice received her elementary education in Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s and Morgan’s St. Michael’s parochial schools. She then attended, and graduated from, Morgan High School.
On August 27, 1960, Eunice married Denis Gluth in St. Michael’s Catholic Church and they made their home in Morgan. Eunice was employed by the Cedar Mountain School District, as well as being a partner in Gluth Oil Company. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Eunice also belonged to St. Anne’s CCW and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She enjoyed the lake cabin at Big Kandi, cooking and baking, playing solitaire, doing word-finds, and reading. She also enjoyed spending time with her card club friends. Eunice especially loved her grandchildren and attending their school events. She loved seeing them through their education at Cedar Mountain.
Eunice is survived by her husband Denis of Morgan; and children Lori (Todd) Hansen of Eden Prairie, Lisa (Jeff) Madsen of Morgan, and Lynn (Mark) Madsen of Morgan. Also surviving are her grandchildren Samantha (Darren) Tighe, Megan (Thomas) Larsen, Alex (Elizabeth) Madsen, Scott (Jennifer) Madsen, Alan (special friend Elizabeth) Madsen, Allison Madsen, Tessa Hansen, Hannah Hansen, Chloe Hansen, and Cayden Hansen; great-grandchildren Adeline, Eli, Evelyn, Wesley, Aliza, and one-on-the-way; and brother Alan (Kathy) Tauer of Eagan. She was preceded in death by her brother Duane Tauer, and sister-in-law Diane Tauer Pumerlo.
Blessed be her memory.
