Emily Ann Wetzel-Tjaden, the daughter of Walter and Dorothy (Hotovec) Wetzel, was born June 17, 1960 in Olivia. She grew up in Olivia and received her formal education in Olivia Public School. Emily enjoyed hiking, camping and being outdoors – she was always up for an adventure. She loved spending time with her family and was super-excited because she was going to be a grandma. Emily encouraged her children to follow their dreams. She belonged to the Valley Riders Saddle Club; Emily loved horses and trail riding. She had infectious laughter and an infamous sense of humor. Emily loved her children dearly and had a very special place in her heart for her dog, Bandit.

She is survived by her children Tabitha Marie (Doug) Kremmin of Alexandria, and Trent Jacob Tjaden (and friend Katy) of Montevideo; her parents Walter and Dorothy Wetzel; and her siblings David (Mary) Wetzel of Browerville, Sharon (Leon) King of Belview, Kenny (Elaine) Wetzel of Spicer, Mya Wetzel of St. Joseph, Paul (Sharon) Wetzel of Mankato, and Lee (Alice) Wetzel of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Blessed be her memory.
