Eloise Kretsch, 102, of Redwood Falls died Friday, May 26, 2017 at Season’s hospice in Redwood Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 from St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Renville. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m., at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls and will continue on Monday, from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m., at the church.
The family prefers memorials in Eloise’s name be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Eloise Caroline Larsen, one of 12 children of Christ and Maggie (Albertson) Larsen, was born June 22, 1914 in Charlestown Township, Redwood County, near Lamberton. Eloise was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Lamberton. She received her elementary education in District 45 rural school and graduated from Lamberton High School in 1931.
On April 25, 1933, Eloise married Barney Kretsch. They were the parents of nine children. Eloise and Barney were farmers and, after moving to four different areas, purchased a farm near Bechyn in 1948. The couple retired in 1969 and moved to Renville.
Eloise had attained the age of 102 years, 11 months, and four days.
She is survived by her children Hazel Harazin, Lois (Howard) Hunt, Bernice (Wilbur) Johnson, Karen (Burlyn) Barnes, Bernard (Sharon) Kretsch, John (Kathy) Kretsch, Joe (Ellen) Kretsch, and Teresa Rossow; 48 grandchildren; over 100 great-grandchildren; and over 50 great-great-grandchildren. Eloise was preceded in death by her husband Barney, infant son Bruce, 10 sisters, one brother, and sons-in-law John Harazin and Tony Rossow.
