Dianne Lois Engholm age 70, of Sleepy Eye died Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, from Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morgan with burial to follow in the Zion Eden Lutheran Cemetery in Eden Township. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morgan and will continue from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the church on Tuesday.

Dianne Lois (Schroeder) Engholm, the daughter of Lloyd Otto and Lilas Arline (Beilke) Schroeder, was born December 4, 1946 in Sleepy Eye, Brown County, Minnesota. She grew up on the family farm and received her formal education from District 34 country school and Morgan High School graduating in 1964. Dianne was baptized and confirmed in Immanuel Church. Dianne married Gerald Engholm on April 17, 1965 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morgan. She was a very active and lifelong member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and held various offices in the Women’s Guild and taught Sunday school for many years. Dianne was a loving mother, grandmother and farm wife. She worked for BIC Graphics in Sleepy Eye for 20 years and was a member of Evan Extension Group. She loved driving through the Minnesota River Valley and camping with Gerald. Dianne also enjoyed gardening and canning produce from her garden. Her most important past time was attending every event and activity her grandchildren were involved in. Her family always came first!
She is survived by her husband Gerald of 52 years, of Sleepy Eye; sons Brian (Brenda) Engholm of Sleepy Eye and Lonny (Shelli) Engholm of Morgan; her grandchildren, Joshua Shumate, Patricia Shumate and special friend Keith Besemer, Courtney, Colton, Tanner, and Morgan Engholm; three sisters, Betty (Howard) Engholm of Sleepy Eye, Susan (David) Paulson of New Ulm, Jane (Lynn) Ahlness of Hanska. Mother-in-law Minnie Engholm of Morgan. Sister-in-laws, Patsy Eckstein and special friend Victor of Sleepy Eye, Donna (Bill) Ritter of Mankato. And many nieces and nephews.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Lilas Schroeder; two daughters Sherri Lynn and infant girl; father-in-law Edwin Engholm.
