Darlene W. Jordan age 90, of Madison Lake, formerly of Redwood Falls passed away on June 15, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024, at St John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 4 until 7 p.m., at Nelson-Hillestad Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Visitation will continue on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to St. John Lutheran School.
Darlene Walberta Gaetke, born on July 30, 1933, in St. Paul to Frank and Lena Gaetke, leaves behind a legacy cherished by many. On December 15, 1968 Darlene Gaetke married Oswald Jordan at St John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls and resided on a farm in rural Redwood Falls until she moved to Madison Lake. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, actively involved in the Ladies Aid and Finance.
Darlene was a baker and cake decorator for over 30 years. Darlene was known for her passion in creating beautiful wedding, birthday, and graduation cakes for the community, spreading joy through her delicious creations.
Outside of her career, Darlene cherished family vacations to destinations like Hawaii and Caribbean cruises, creating lasting memories with her loved ones. She also enjoyed time chatting and chuckling with friends and family, as well as expressing herself artistically through painting on canvas. She enjoyed playing shuffleboard, scrabble and playing cards with family and friends.
Darlene is reunited in peace with her husband Oswald, who passed away in 2014, as well as 5 brothers and 6 sisters. She is survived by her son Carl (Megan) Jordan of Madison Lake; grandchildren, Jacob, Carli, Isabell, Rhyleigh, Caden, Landon, and Skylar; and sister-in-law Ardella Anderson of Belview.
Darlene Jordan will be remembered for her culinary talents, warm presence among loved ones, and her dedication to both her craft and community. May she rest in peace knowing she touched the hearts of many during her time on this Earth.
