Daniel Ragan, 64, of Hanska formerly of Redwood Falls, died Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Seasons Hospice Home in Redwood Falls. A private service will be held later this spring.

Daniel Roger Ragan was born on October 3, 1954 to Robert and Pearl (Wendt) and was guided by the hand of Jesus to his eternal home on March 9, 2019. Dan was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. He attended public school in Redwood Falls through the 8th grade at which time he transferred to Martin Luther Academy in New Ulm, Minnesota from there he graduated high school.
Dan then enlisted in the United States Navy. Upon returning from his assignment on his naval ship, he became a Naval Recruiter. He then attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota fulfilling his dream of becoming a Christian Day School Teacher and Elementary Principal. He attended Mankato State University and became a Public School Teacher.
Dan was blessed with a beautiful voice which he used to bring joy to many weddings and comfort to many funerals. He was an avid Jeopardy watcher. Gardening was his passion and sharing his produce and flowers that he grew brought him much satisfaction. He never married. Always referring to himself as “happily single”. The last several years, dan worked as a personal care attendant and homemaker. In February 2019 he was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma in the lungs and brain.
He is survived by his loving mother, Pearl Ragan of Morgan, Brother Michael (Linda) Ragan of Sauk Centre and sister Becky (Jeff) Bethke of Franklin. Nephews and Nieces: Eric, Rachel, Russ, Nathan, Ryan, Natasha, Justin and Travis. Aunts and Uncles-Ron & Yvonne Degner, Dale & Bonnie Ragan and Lynn Ragan. Many great-nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ragan and 2 siblings.
