Charles William Elder, born on December 12, 1946, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2013. Chuck was blessed with a loving wife, two lovely daughters and four grandchildren. Chuck worked in the grocery business most of his life, most recently at Tersteeg’s for 30 years. He worked briefly at Sister Kenny Institute doing accounting but returned to the grocery business because he preferred spending time with people over crunching the numbers. When not working he loved spending time with family and friends, golfing, fishing and hunting.
In 2005 Chuck was faced with a life threatening operation. He prayed and asked God for a little more time. God gave him eight more wonderful years on earth. Before going to be with the Lord, he was in hospice where he spent time visiting with friends and family. He was ready to leave his old body behind. He asked us to keep the faith and to tell others that God can help ordinary people.
We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to family, church family, friends, co-workers, our community, Dr. Cilek, hospital personnel, and the hospice team. You all have given us such wonderful support during this difficult time. God’s blessings upon you all.
