Barbara Jo Style

Barbara Jo Style, 56, of Redwood Falls died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from Nelson-Hillestad Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery.

Barbara Jo Style, the daughter of Jerome and Margaret (Ryan) Style, was born June 21, 1959 in Ortonville. In 1974, Barb moved to Revere where she lived in Merle and Sadie Knapper’s foster home. Barb graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1977. She moved to an apartment in Redwood Falls in 1988 and later roomed with Julie Erickson. Barb became a resident of her REM house in 2007.

She was employed by Service Enterprises, Inc. (SEI), working primarily in the assembly area. Barb was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. She belonged to People First and the Adult Life Skills program. Barb loved to attend concerts at Jackpot and always appreciated the chance to go places. Her number one favorite thing to do was to go out for treats! Barb’s family was very important to her.

She is survived by her siblings Kathleen (Bruce) Homa of Wausau, Wisconsin, Maureen Style of Hutchinson, David (Lisa) Style of Glencoe, and Sara (Brent) Kuphal of Plymouth; 13 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and –nephews; and many other friends and family. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Margaret Style; her grandparents Glenmore and Mary Style, and Dorence “D.L.” and Laurena Ryan; and her good friend Wally Bradesen.
