Anna Mae was born on September 18, 1924, in Martell, Wisconsin. She married Lyman C. Morrow in 1947 and they settled in Redwood Falls in 1965. Together they enjoyed cross country skiing, square dancing, and the family gatherings on Christmas Eve that became a cherished tradition.
Anna Mae’s career as an educator spanned over 13 years at Reede Gray Elementary School in Redwood Falls. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls with a degree in Elementary Education.
Her passion was quilting with a specialty for creating handstitched quilts and wall hangings for her entire family. She continued to assist the Gloria Dei Quilters, who became close friends, even after moving to Parkview Senior Living at 98 years young.
Anna Mae was a woman of remarkable energy and resilience. Her daily walks, no matter the season, mirrored her independent spirit. Sewing, reading, Scandinavian rosemaling, and outdoor gardening brought her joy.
As an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, she lent her talents to various ministries within the church community. Her commitment to creating Mission Quilts not only displayed her artistic flair but also showcased her compassionate nature and love of God.
Anna Mae’s proudest accomplishments were being a mother, grandma, and great-grandma. She touched the lives of all who knew her with qualities that remain a source of inspiration.
Anna Mae is survived by her children: Ron (Char) Morrow; Dar Morrow; Jan (Jeff) Lynass; Lynn Buckley; grandchildren: Brett (Libby) Buckley; Leslie (Josh) Olson; Todd (Jenna) Buckley; Dana (Jon) Severson; as well as ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lyman; daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Buckley; and sister, Marlys Wilhelm.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations/memorials to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
