Adeline Anna Shippman

Adeline Shippman, 96, of Redwood Falls died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Seasons in Redwood Falls. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2012 from St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the services.

Adeline Anna Shippman, the daughter of Peter and Pauline (Lenz) Shippman was born April 18, 1916 on the family farm in Flora Township, Renville County. She was baptized on May 28, 1916 and confirmed on September 14, 1934. Adeline was raised on the family farm and began her formal education in the nearby country school. She then attended Redwood Falls High School, graduating with the Class of 1934.

Adeline was a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of the flowers that graced the Shippman farmyard and generously shared those flowers with the community. Adeline was also employed by Control Data as a factory worker for 16 years. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Adeline and her sister, Gladys, resided on the family farm until 2006 when they moved to Garnette Gardens in Redwood Falls.

Adeline is survived by her sister Gladys Shippman of Redwood Falls, and many friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents.
